Memorial Day Reflections & Family Fun in Greenville, SC

What this weekend means to me and some fun things to do in Greenville, SC.

As Memorial Day approaches, I find myself reflecting on what this weekend truly means. Growing up as an Army brat and later marrying a military man, the values behind Memorial Day—honoring those who gave everything for our country—have always hit close to home. Freedom and family are things I’ll never take for granted.

Each year, my family usually heads to my grandpa’s house to enjoy time on the lake. It’s a simple tradition, but one that reminds me what this weekend is all about—making memories with the people you love while remembering the sacrifice that makes it all possible. This year, I’m planning to make Red, White, and Blue Crispy Rice Treats for the kids—just a little something to make the day feel extra special.

If you're looking for things to do in the Greenville area this Memorial Day weekend, there’s no shortage of family fun:

  • 🎉 Memorial Day Bash at PKL Park – happening Saturday and packed with community fun. More details here

  • 🌳 Unity Park – Our go-to spot with a splash pad, open grassy picnic areas, a playground, and a walkable distance to The Commons for coffee and great food.

As a real estate agent and mom of two toddlers, I also know that this is a big season for families thinking about relocating. School’s about to let out, and many want to move before the new year starts. If that’s you, know that Greenville offers so much for families—excellent schools, safe neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and year-round activities for kids.

Whether you're just visiting, new to the area, or considering a move, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help you explore what makes Greenville so special—not just for a weekend like Memorial Day, but for everyday life.

Wishing you a safe, meaningful, and joy-filled Memorial Day! ❤️🤍💙
